Some of What I Plan to Read Over Break
Not to come down hard on e-readers, because I'm sure they're great in some ways, but really, is there anything more satisfying that a stack of new books waiting to be read? Somehow I don't think a neat list on a screen achieves quite the same effect.

It's a pretty MFA-heavy style list. I'm reading The Pushcart Prize XXXIV: Best of the Small Presses (2010 Edition), and Best New American Voices 2010, both of which contain lots of short fiction coming out of MFA programs (more so the latter, of course- Joyce Carol Oates won a Pushcart this year...). Plus, I'm going to read After the Gold Rush
, a book of short stories by the professor I'll have for workshop, next semester. Anagrams
and Olive Kitteridge
are both short story collections, and so while not tied as closely to the MFA as the others, still applicable to the kinds of writing I am doing, now. I'm sure I pulled these books together entirely on purpose, though as the end of graduate school quickly approaches (!) I do find myself wanting to get the most out of it as I can before it's gone.
What are you reading?

Sounds like a nice round up. I've been meaning to get the Pushcart book but can't get it locally and just haven't been ordering books lately. Hoping I get some gift cards for Christmas!!!
