Girl's First Earthquake
Yesterday.
I'm in a trailer, next to an under-construction building, only a couple of hundred yards from a BART station. Things get loud and rumbly, occasionally.
But my chair shakes, feeling a bit like I just slipped over the tip of an early roller coaster slope. You know, one of those baby ones, the quick rise and fall that is supposed to get you excited about the big one to come.
"Hey! Was that an earthquake?"
Maybe. Or maybe the construction crew just bumped us with one of the big dirt diggers they are cruising around in. Either way, nothing more shook. Back to work.
A couple hours later, with finally a minute to myself, I check. Internet reports: 4.1 earthquake.
"Hey! It was an earthquake!" Finally! One I felt.

NOw you can officially say you lived in California :)
Awesome. I usually hear them when I'm home, and the rest of my family members feel the tremors—weird, right? I think I must be part cat.
Except for the 89' Earthquake. That was like surfing on land.
